Twitter Video Downloader

Twitter video downloader: paste a tweet link, pick a resolution and save the MP4 from Twitter's CDN.

One link or up to 10, one per line

What is a Twitter video downloader?

A Twitter video downloader is a tool that turns the link of a post on X (formerly Twitter) into a video file you can keep. The X app lets you watch, like and repost a clip, but it has no button to save it to your camera roll or hard drive, and the player streams the video in small pieces that you cannot simply right-click and keep.

TwitterVideoDownloader.org reads the post behind the link you paste, finds every MP4 version that Twitter itself encoded for that video, and lists them by resolution. You pick one and the file downloads straight from Twitter's own CDN to your phone or computer. There is no app to install, no account to create and no watermark added to the file, because what you get is the original MP4 that Twitter serves to its own players.

People use it to download Twitter videos for offline viewing on a flight, to keep a clip before the post gets deleted, to drop a video into an editing timeline, or to share a news clip in a group chat that does not open X links. Whatever the reason, the tool does one job: Twitter to MP4, quickly and in the quality you choose.

How to download a Twitter video

  1. Copy the post link. In the X app, tap the share icon under the post and choose Copy link. On the website, click the share icon or copy the address from the browser bar. The link looks like https://x.com/username/status/1234567890; old twitter.com links work too.
  2. Paste it into the box above. One link per line. Paste a single link to see every quality, or several links to download them together.
  3. Choose a resolution. Each row shows the resolution, the file size and a Download button. The top row is the sharpest version the post offers.
  4. Save the MP4. The file is fetched by your browser directly from Twitter's servers and saved under a clear name such as twittervideodownloader-NASA-2111180963661435219-1080p.mp4.

Tip: press Ctrl + Enter (⌘ + Enter on a Mac) inside the box to start without reaching for the button.

Download several X videos at once

Saving a thread of clips one by one is slow, so the same box accepts up to 10 links, one per line. Each link is checked on its own and shows up in a queue with its thumbnail, author and length. For every row you can:

  • pick a different quality from the drop-down menu,
  • download that single video right away, or
  • press Download all as ZIP to get every ready video in one archive.

If a link fails, for example because the post was deleted, only that row is marked; the rest of the batch keeps going and you can retry the failed one.

Which quality should you pick?

Twitter re-encodes every upload into a few fixed renditions. The list you see is exactly what exists for that post, so a clip uploaded in 720p will never show a 1080p option. Typical choices look like this:

ResolutionTypical useSize for one minute (approx.)
1080p (Full HD)Editing, big screens, keeping the best copy15–40 MB
720p (HD)Phones, tablets, sharing in chats8–15 MB
480p (SD)Saving data on mobile connections4–8 MB
320p and lowerQuick previews, very slow networks1–4 MB

Vertical videos are labeled by their longer side, so a portrait clip may show up as 1280p or 1920p. Sizes are measured from the real file whenever Twitter reports them; a "≈" sign means the size was estimated from the bitrate.

Why your videos come straight from Twitter

We do not host any video. When you paste a link, our server only reads the post data to learn where Twitter keeps the MP4 files. The download itself goes from Twitter's CDN to your browser, the same servers that stream the video inside the X app. That has three practical effects:

  • Speed. Twitter's CDN has servers close to almost everyone, so downloads run at the speed of your own connection instead of waiting for a middleman.
  • Original quality. Nothing is re-compressed or watermarked on the way; the file is byte-for-byte what Twitter delivers.
  • Privacy. We never see or store the video you save, and you do not need an account on our site or on X.

Save Twitter videos on iPhone, Android and desktop

The downloader runs in any modern browser, so the steps are the same everywhere; only where the file lands differs.

  • iPhone and iPad: use Safari. After you tap Download, the video goes to the Downloads folder in the Files app. Open it there and tap the share icon, then Save Video, to move it into Photos.
  • Android: use Chrome or any browser. The MP4 is saved to your Downloads folder and shows up in the Gallery or Google Photos within a few seconds.
  • Windows, Mac and Linux: the file goes to your browser's download folder and plays in any player, from VLC to QuickTime.

Very long videos (over about 200 MB) show an Open video button instead of saving in one step, because some phones cannot hold that much in memory. Open it, then long-press or right-click the video and choose Save.

What this tool can't download

  • Posts from protected accounts. If an account only shares posts with approved followers, its videos are not public and cannot be fetched.
  • Deleted or suspended posts. Once a post is gone from X, its video files are removed too.
  • Live broadcasts and Spaces. Streams that are still live, and audio-only Spaces, are not stored as MP4 files.
  • Videos from other sites. If a post only links to YouTube or another platform, there is no Twitter video to save.

GIFs are a special case: Twitter stores them as short silent MP4 loops. You can save those here as MP4, or use the Twitter GIF Downloader to turn them into real .gif files.

Twitter Video Downloader FAQs

What is the best Twitter video downloader?

The best Twitter video downloader is one that shows every quality the post actually has, gives you the original file without a watermark and does not ask you to sign up. TwitterVideoDownloader.org does all three and also lets you paste up to 10 links at once and get them as a ZIP.

Is TwitterVideoDownloader.org free?

Yes. Downloading Twitter videos here is free and there is no account, trial or daily download quota. We only slow down automated traffic that sends an unusual number of requests in a short time.

How do I download a video from Twitter to my phone?

Copy the post link from the X app with Share → Copy link, open TwitterVideoDownloader.org in your phone's browser, paste the link and tap Download next to the quality you want. On iPhone the file appears in Files → Downloads; on Android it appears in your Downloads folder and gallery.

Can I download videos from X (Twitter) in 1080p?

Yes, when the uploader posted the video in 1080p. The downloader lists every rendition Twitter created, and the first row is always the highest one available for that post.

Do downloaded videos have a watermark?

No. You receive the same MP4 file that Twitter streams to its own app, so there is no logo or watermark added by us.

Both work, as do mobile links such as mobile.twitter.com and links copied with tracking parameters at the end. Paste the link as it is.

Can I download several Twitter videos at the same time?

Yes. Put up to 10 post links in the box, one per line. Each video can be saved on its own, or you can download all of them in one ZIP file.

Why can't I download a video from a protected account?

Protected accounts only show their posts to approved followers, so their videos are not publicly available. A downloader that works without logging in, like this one, cannot access them.

Do you store the videos I download?

No. Our server only looks up where Twitter keeps the files. The video travels from Twitter's CDN directly to your device and never passes through or stays on our servers.

Saving a video for personal use is generally fine, but the video still belongs to the person who made it. Don't re-upload or use someone else's video commercially without their permission.
